The truth is it is easier to manage our time than our energy.  We can put things on our calendar, add/ subtract from our “To Do” list, and have meetings scheduled each and everyday. However, we need to manage our energy if we want to maximize the impact we have on both people and projects.

The most effective way to manage our energy is to chose effective targets which includes:

Daily Targets- What is the most important goal you accomplish today?

Weekly Targets- What is the most important goal you accomplish this week?

Monthly Targets- What is the most important goal you accomplish this month?

Yearly Targets- What is the most important goal you accomplish this year?

Take time to define your targets, because, what you aim for is where you energy will go too.  Remember, when we don’t manage our energy and only our time that is when we are on “automatic pilot” and going through the motions.  Going through the motions will not give us impact, however, conquering our targets will.
