Last weekend we hosted our first annual event,“Energy” and the audience came in around 9:45 am and mixed and mingled for about 15- 20 minutes.  I started the event and I asked everyone to close their eyes and answer 5 questions about their environment which included:

  1. What was I wearing?
  2. What color was the carpet?
  3. What was on the stage?
  4. What color was my wife’s dress?
  5. How many cameras did we have in the room?

I asked everyone to open their eyes and tell me their answers.  The majority of our crowd could answer half of these questions, with a few who could answer all of them.  At that moment it dawned on me that so many of us are doing two things as we operate in life which include:

#1- We are focused on the past

#2- We are anticipating the future

How much wasted energy do you spend worrying about the past?  And anticipating the future?  Imagine re-directing that energy on the present moment and the power of “Now.”
